Mini Mod Rules
NO TOUCH CLASS. IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN, THEN YOU CAN’T.
Intentional bump and spin gets sent to back of the pack. Second (2nd) time intentional bump and spin in the same race gets black-flagged. Driver receiving black flag two (2) RACES in a row will receive one (1) race suspension. Drivers will receive one (1) race grace for tech infractions except for any and all safety equipment not meeting tech specifications. No mirrors allowed. No radios.
1. COMPETING MODELS
a) American or foreign manufactured stock production two or four door sedan or mini truck.
b) 4 cylinder motors only. No turbo and or rotary. No V-Tech Motors.
d) Wheelbase must remain stock.
e) Minimum weight of 2200 lbs with driver at any time.
f) All ballast weight must be painted white and must have a car number on each weight.
2. BODIES
a) Bodies must be complete.
b) All exterior body parts will be metal with the exception of one-piece fiberglass hood & fenders. Fabricated panels and must look stock for make and model being used.
Flat sides ok. Full bodies required at the beginning of each race meet.\
c) Hood and trunk deck lid pins required. Minimum of two (1) across the front hood.
d) Full stock firewall and floorboard including rear seat floor area leading into trunk required. All holes to be covered by sheet metal and welded or riveted in place.
e) Hood, doors, rear quarters, roof and deck may be gutted. (Inner reinforcement removed)
f) Stock roof must have A-post, and C-post.
g) Dash may be removed.
h) Fender wells may have a 3 to 5-inch clearance.
i) A half or full windshield screen with two center supports 1/8” by 1”, centered 6” to 8” apart mandatory.
j) No mirrors allowed.
k) Driver’s window net mandatory. Release at top front. No string nets.
l) NO SHARP, PROTRUDING EDGES OR SCRUB RAILS ALLOWED.
3. BUMPERS
a) Bumpers must be stock mfg.
b) Bumpers mounted behind after market full nose and or tail covers may be fabricated subject to tech approval.
c) Bumper height measured from ground to centerline of bumper must be a minimum of 16” and a maximum of 20”.
d) Bumpers must have a 90-degree turn on each side extending back a minimum of 4”. Bumpers must not have sharp corners or ends.
e) Front and rear bumpers must have metal plates (minimum of 20 gauge) covering full width of bumper securing ends of bumpers to the quarter panels and fenders.
f) Front and rear bumpers must have safety chains mounted to the frames. Minimum of 5/16 chain.
4. ROLLBARS
a) Full type roll-cage required, subject to tech approval. Bars must be a minimum of 1 1/2” OD, .095” wall thickness.
b) NO GALVANIZED, ALUMINUM, OR EXHAUST TUBING ALLOWED
c) Minimum of 3 door bars on right side, with a minimum of 4 door bars on driver side door, no more than 7” spread between each door bar. Must have 1/8” doorplate
from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear down bar to front down bar.
d) Rear kicker bars may extend to rear frame cross members.
e) Fuel cell protector mandatory, no more than the width of the frame rails.
f) Main roll cage uprights must be welded to tubing running full length and welded to rocker panels or welded to a minimum 3/16” thick plate, top and bottom, at all four
corners. Plate must be minimum 4” square, with four 7/16 grade 8 bolts at each location.
g) Padding must be used at any point where driver contact might occur.
h) 1 OR 2 Aluminum racing seat mandatory. Seats must have complete cage frame support fabricated to the roll bar assembly. No fiberglass seats.
i) A five (5) point safety harness, with quick release mandatory with a 3” wide lap belt, 3” shoulder belts and a 2” submarine. All belts must be attached to roll cage
with a minimum of 7/16 grade 8 bolts.
j) All seat belts must have date of manufacturer and must be within 4 years of the present date.
k) FUEL CELLS MANDATORY. Fuel cell must be between frame rails in trunk area. Fuel cell must be totally enclosed in an 18 gauge steel container and mounted
with TWO 1/8’ by 1” straps both lengthwise and crosswise. Bottom of cell center of axle or higher
l) MAXIMUM fuel cell capacity: 16 gallons
m) Turnover valve mandatory.
n) Fuel cell must be foam filled.
o) Fuel cap lanyard and ground strap required.
5. FRAME AND SUSPENSION
a) Wheelbase must be stock for year, make and model utilized.
b) Front and rear sub frames must be stock for year, make and model of car utilized. No cutting, sectioning or redesign of any frame or sub frame to change the stock l
location of any suspension component or engine placement unless stated otherwise in these rules.
c) Strut cars may alter and or reinforce strut towers in order to achieve proper front end settings. All modifications subject to tech approval.
d) All components and parts must be stock or stock replacement. Any modifying or reinforcing subject to tech approval. No weight jack devices of any kind allowed. No
spring buckets. Fixed or adjustable spacers allowed. Racing springs allowed
e) Adjustable lowering blocks allowed.
f) Front sway bars ok. No rear sway bars allowed.
g) Any crash damage repair must locate the suspension components in their original positions with original mounts with a minimum of reinforcement. All repairs subject
to track approval.
h) Ball joint and ball joint location must be stock plus or minus one inch.
i) All shocks must be stock type and must be mounted in stock location to stock rubber mounts Adjustable shocks allowed. Aftermarket struts ok.
j) Front wheel drive cars may not run any camber in rear wheels. Must remain zero degrees.
k) Drivelines must have two (2) retaining straps. May be made of chain or metal strap. Drivelines must be painted white. No aluminum drivelines.
6. STEERING
a) Steering column must be mounted in stock location.
b) All Steering components (pump & box) must be OEM stock for model being used.
c) Steering quickener OK. Factory Rack and pinion ok if factory for model being used.
7. BRAKES
a) Complete stock 4 wheel brakes in good working order required.
b) Rear wheel disk brakes ok. Only stock components allowed for model being used.
c) All 4 wheel brakes must work at all times.
d) Stock working master cylinders must be in stock location.
8. ENGINE
a) Engine must match make of vehicle.
b) Maximum CI as per factory specs plus 0.060 overbore.
c)Maximum of 159 cubic inches.
d) ENGINE BLOCKS: Stock OEM engine blocks only. Decking allowed. Studded main caps allowed. Must have stock casting numbers on block. Blocks must not be altered in any way so that it cannot be used in a street legal production car.
e) CRANKS: Stock OEM crank only. After market crank
pulley ok. Crank is to remain stock and will be teched.
f) PISTONS: any pistons is ok.
g) RODS: Any rods allowed. Floaters ok. Heavy-duty rod bolts OK. Shot peened OK.
h) HEADS: No after market heads allowed.. After-market valves ok. After market valve springs, retainers, and keepers ok. Steel only no aluminum or titanium valve train parts. Factory roller rockers ok if offered
from manufacture being used.
i) CAMSHAFT: Any solid or hydraulic camshaft allowed. Aftermarket adjustable cam pulley ok.
j) INTAKE:Aftermarket intakes allowed..
9. CARBURETION/ Injection
a) Holley #4412 or # 7448 carb. Aftermarket type ok. Must have choke horn.
b) Carburetor adaptor not to exceed 1” max with one gasket on top and one gasket on bottom. No other additional spacers. Two Throttle return springs mandatory.
c) Standard size air cleaners only 4” x 14” max.( K&N filter ok)
d) Injected cars may use aftermarket injectors.
10. FUEL SYSTEMS
a) NO COOL CANS ALLOWED.
b) NO GLASS OR PLASTIC FUEL FILTERS ALLOWED.
c) Gas shall not be blended with alcohol, ethers, or other oxygenates Race gas ok.
d) Electric fuel pump will be allowed. Electric fuel pump must be wired through oil pressure sending unit or
alternator in a manner that will insure fuel pump will not operate when motor is shut off.
e) Any line passing through the drivers’ compartment will be neoprene hose inside steel tubing, and will be subject to tech approval.
11. EXHAUST SYSTEM
a) After market headers allowed. Under the chassis or through the firewall ok.
b) Modifications to firewall to except header must be kept to a minimum.
c) Any part of exhaust system in driver’s compartment must be completely sealed from driver.
12. COOLING SYSTEM
a) Radiators must be in stock location and appear stock..
b) Solid plastic, aluminum or steel fan ok.
c) ( 2 ) Electric fans ok.
13. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
a) Any aftermarket battery powered ignition system allowed. No mags. Trigger fire allowed only if factory for model being used.
b) Cars requiring a PCM or some type of computer system may run aftermarket components. Must be nonadjustable from driver’s seat.
c) All batteries must be securely mounted. If battery is mounted inside of driver compartment it must be fully enclosed inside metal case bolted to the floor having a
securely attached cover. Dry cell highly recommended if in driver’s compartment.
d) Electrical ON/Off switch and starter button must be within reach of driver without having to release, loosen or remove seat belts.
e) All cars must start under their own power.
f) Master electrical on/off switch mandatory & must be reachable from either side of car from outside, and kill the engine when turned off.
14. TRANSMISSIONS & REAR-ENDS
a) Transmissions must remain stock and in stock location with all gears working.
b) Manual transmission ok. Steel pressure plate only. Aluminum flywheel ok.
c) Must be OEM style pressure plate & flywheel. This means aluminum flywheels will look just like factory steel flywheel.
d) Steel only scatter shields mandatory.
e) Automatics must have stock working torque converters.
f) Transmission coolers ok. No mounting of coolers in driver’s compartment.
g) No rachet or locker rear-ends. No full spools allowed. Mini spool, or welded gears ok.
h) Locked front wheel drives ok.
15. TIRES AND WHEELS / Rear wheel drive
a) Maximum wheel width is 8”. Steel wheels only.
b) Maximum tire tread width 8 1/2'”.
c) Bead locks allowed.
d) Racing tires ok.
e) No tire softeners.
